section divider
Triglochin are perennial, sedge-like plants with leaves that resemble grasses. Arrowgrass is found in marshes and bogs of colder temperate regions in North America. Arrowgrass is not commonly found near populated areas in this continent. However, it is being planted as a landscape plant around water gardens and small ponds in urban areas. Greenish-white flowers are on stems 5-10" tall. Flowering occurs from May to July or August and the pollen is dispersed by wind. Each flower produces 3 single-seeded capsules. Seaside arrowgrass is poisonous to livestock.
